Estonian
This reference genome is built from the Genetic variation in the Estonian population (Estonian Biobank), aggregating whole-genome and array-based variation from Estonian adults and registered under PRJNA489787. Estonian genomes occupy a North-Eastern European, Finnic-aligned cluster with signals of historical bottlenecks and drift, producing pockets of extended haplotypes and an enrichment of rare variants relative to Western Europe. Here we collapse the study-wide allele counts into a per-locus consensus genotype baseline and use it as a comparative anchor across populations.
