This reference genome is built from the gnomAD v4 — Genomes European (EUR) ancestry group, registered under PRJNA398795, aggregating short-read whole-genome data from ~78k individuals assigned to the EUR genetic-ancestry cluster. European cohorts show allele-frequency clines shaped by post-glacial expansions and historical bottlenecks, with generally longer linkage-disequilibrium blocks than in Africa and subtle north–south/east–west substructure across the continent. Here we collapse the study-wide SNP allele counts into a per-locus consensus genotype baseline and use it as a comparative anchor across populations.
