Japanese
This reference genome is built from the 38KJPN Japanese whole-genome reference panel (Tohoku Medical Megabank, jMorp), aggregating short-read WGS from ~38,000 unrelated Japanese participants and registered under PRJNA678214. Japanese genomes cluster within East Asia but show fine-scale regional structure shaped by geography and historical demography; the 38KJPN panel provides high-resolution SNP allele-frequency catalogs widely used in Japanese population genetics. Here we collapse the study-wide allele counts into a per-locus consensus genotype baseline and use it as a comparative anchor across populations.
