Korean
This reference genome is built from the Korean Genome Project — Korea4K panel, aggregating short-read whole-genome data from ~4,000 Koreans (Illumina HiSeq X/NovaSeq) with matched health check-up phenotypes; the resource is described in GigaScience (2024) and distributed under controlled access at EGA (EGAS00001007580). Korean genomes cluster within East Asia yet form a distinct axis relative to Japanese and Han Chinese, with fine-scale regional structure observed in principal-component analyses. Here we collapse the study-wide SNP allele counts into a per-locus consensus genotype baseline and use it as a comparative anchor across populations.
